Disney Ad

The beginning of the ad shows a woman about to tear away some paper on the wall. This immediately intrigues the viewer as to what is hidden behind the paper. In a few second's we are made aware that the advert is about Disney Land in Paris. The music playing is rather "magical" itself and is very fitting for the advert.  One of the children reads the message on the board that they are going to Disney Land and begins to scream with excitement. This is when there is a montage of funny and heart warming images of different children's reactions to the news of the trip they will be taking. You see the happiness on the Mothers faces  because of the children's reactions. Mothers seem to be the more nurturing parent which may be why it is mainly the mother featured in the advert. Mothers want to see that kind of joy from their children, as do the fathers, but there would be more of an emotional respond from the Mothers which is why the advert is more targeted towards them. Children start to run to and hug their parents and share a moment of joy with their siblings making the advert more emotive and parents would like to share that kind of moment with their own children which would encourage them to purchase such a holiday.

Then the montage stops and there is a black background with the sentence "the magic begins the moment you tell them" The words are in white and the lettering is not harsh, edgy or hard to understand. It is easy to read and has a soft look to it which is fitting with the advert. Around the sentence is flickering of white which seem to sparkle. This on a black background gives the impression of stars on a night sky. In the Disney film Peter Pan, a film known by both children and parents, the moment the magic begins for those children is when they go off in to the night towards the stars to Neverland and they start their own journey. The idea of the trip to Paris being magical links itself with that moment in the film which heightens the idea of magic, wonder and excitement.

You then see Micky Mouse dressed as a wizard (again making the idea of magic more evident). He appears to be looking straight at you making the advert more personal and Micky mouse is an iconic face for Disney. The image is of a young girl appearing to be having fun with Minnie Mouse (another iconic face). This makes children believe that they too could meet this characters increasing their want to go there. Sunshine is in the background, the girl smiling with minnie is a very positive image, a positive image will encourage a positive response to the ad.

After is a close up of a young girl holding hands with what appears to be Snow White. The reason we are made to believe it to be Snow White is the colour of the dress. We don't see what the girl looks like so it is more relatable for the little girls at home to believe that it could be them holding hands with a disney princess making the holiday seem special and magical in its own way. It also shows the place to be friendly and comforting.

Then we are back to the black background with the sparkles around the writing. The sentence this time is "So when are you going to tell them?" The sentence is very confident showing the makers of the advert having confidence in the place and what they are selling. People would also start to think when they could go on this holiday even if they didn't have any intention of going. The sentence automatically gets people thinking because it is a question it also makes them believe that they can make their children as happy as those on the advert just by purchasing a holiday to Disney Land.

The well known characters shown in the advert and the possible reference to Peter Pan would be something that the parents could relate to and possibly allow them to take the holiday for them, for their inner child.

The advert end with an image of the happy Disney characters and the website allowing viewers to know where to go to book the holiday, the website is also an easy and accessible way to book the holiday.
